AminoAce ("we", "our", or "the app") is a food-combination optimizer that helps you maximize your dietary amino acid profile. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app or this website, and how it is used.
AminoAce does not require account creation or sign-in, and we do not maintain user accounts or profiles. The app sends food search queries and optimization requests to our backend API solely to compute results; these are not associated with any user account or identity. Dietary preferences (e.g. exclude meat, exclude dairy) are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to our servers. If you deliberately send us something — feedback, a food request, or a screenshot you attach — we of course receive that; see “Feedback You Send Us” below.
The app does, however, use third-party services — for advertising, analytics, crash reporting, and backend monitoring — that collect certain technical, device, and usage data. What each of these collects, and who processes it, is described in the sections below.
AminoAce displays advertising through Google AdMob to support the free use of the app. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process:
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's own privacy policy, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not control how Google or its advertising partners use this data beyond serving ads within the app. Where required by your region (including the EU/EEA and UK), you may be shown a consent prompt before any non-essential ad personalization occurs, and you can manage your ad personalization preferences through your device settings or via Google's Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com
To understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes and errors so we can improve AminoAce, the app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics. Through these services, the following may be collected:
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Details of how Firebase handles data are available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. This analytics and crash data is not linked to any user account, since the app has none.
The contact form on our imprint page is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which distinguishes people from automated abuse. To do that it collects technical data from your browser — including your IP address, and information about your device and how you interact with the page — and sends it to Google. We use it solely to keep that form usable and receive no profile or advertising data from it. See Google's privacy policy and terms. reCAPTCHA loads only on the imprint page, and only around the form.
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. When you answer the consent banner, your choice is recorded in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again; it stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can change it at any time using the "Cookie settings" link on this page. Google reCAPTCHA sets its own cookies when it loads, as described above. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (names beginning _ga) to recognise a returning browser; declining, or later withdrawing, deletes them.
This website uses Google Analytics to analyze user behavior, including page visits, scrolling behavior and clicks. We only ever use aggregate insights and use it to continuously improve our website and services. Google receives technical and usage data — your approximate location from your IP address, your device and browser, and the pages you view — and processes it in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Analytics runs only if you agree to it. Nothing is loaded from Google until you choose "Accept analytics"; you can withdraw at any time via "Cookie settings" on this page, which deletes the analytics cookies and stops the collection.
If you use "Send feedback" or "Request food" in the app, or the contact form on our imprint page, we receive what you write. For feedback that means your message, the category you chose (bug, idea or question), your app language, the version of the app you are running and — only if you choose to provide it — your email address, which we use solely to reply to you. Providing an email address is entirely optional and feedback works without one.
Screenshots you attach are stored on our server only until the next delivery run (normally at most 15 minutes, and in no case longer than 14 days), forwarded to us as an email attachment, and then permanently deleted. Screenshots are never stored in our database, never included in our backups, and never made publicly accessible.
Your message and, where given, your email address are likewise removed from our server once the email has been sent, and from then on exist only in our email inbox, where we keep them for as long as we need them to respond. You can ask us to delete them at any time using the contact address below.
We do not retain logs that identify individual users or link requests to any identity. (Feedback you choose to send us is handled separately — see “Feedback You Send Us” above.) To keep the service reliable and diagnose errors, our backend generates operational telemetry — performance metrics, error logs, and request traces — which is processed by a third-party application-performance-monitoring provider, Dynatrace. This telemetry is technical and operational in nature (for example endpoint, response time, error details, and may include technical data such as IP addresses); it is not tied to any user account, as the app has none.
Dynatrace processes this data on our behalf as described in its privacy information at https://www.dynatrace.com/company/trust-center/privacy/.
AminoAce is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may have rights including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data concerning you, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. AminoAce maintains no user accounts, and the only personal data we hold ourselves is an email address you chose to send us with feedback — which we delete on request, and which is removed from our server once we have received it. Beyond that, such data is processed by our third-party providers — Google (advertising and Firebase analytics/crash reporting) and Dynatrace (backend monitoring) — and can be addressed through the links provided in the sections above. For any other privacy-related request, you can also contact us directly using the details below.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
